Passing of an Era: Verizon to Discontinue Weather Reports and Time-of-Day Service

Effective June 1, Verizon will no longer weather reports or time of day reports.  Currently, one can obtain the exact time of day by dialing your area code plus TI4-1212.  A current weather forecast can be obtained by dialing your area code plus WE6-1212.  For me, for example, this is 301-936-1212, and 301-844-1212.  Free time and weather service offerings date back to at least the early 1960's and probably eralier.
